Privacy Policy

We care about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use rulebook.mk (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to the Rulebook board‑game café located in Skopje, North Macedonia.

What we collect

  • Information you provide: when you subscribe for updates, you may provide an email address or phone number.
  • Basic technical information: like your IP address and browser details are automatically sent by your device to deliver the Site and keep it secure.
  • Cookies: the Site is designed to be cookie‑light. We do not set cookies for the subscribe form. If we later enable analytics (see below), first‑party analytics cookies may be used. Google Fonts, which we use to display fonts, does not set cookies but will receive your IP address to deliver fonts.

How we use information

  • Updates: to send you news about opening dates, events, and promotions (with your consent).
  • Site operation and security: to deliver pages, prevent abuse/spam (via a minimal “honeypot” field), and maintain logs on our hosting platform.
  • Analytics (currently disabled): our codebase contains Google Analytics, but it is not enabled at this time. If we enable it in the future, we will update this Policy and, where required, request consent.

Where your data goes

  • Hosting: the Site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc.), which may process standard server logs (e.g., IP address, request metadata) to operate and secure the service.
  • Email/phone subscriptions: our subscribe form posts to a serverless endpoint we host with Google Apps Script and may store entries in a protected Google Sheet (Google LLC). Google acts as our processor for this purpose.
  • Fonts: we load fonts from Google Fonts (Google LLC). According to Google, Fonts does not set cookies and only receives your IP address to serve the files.
  • Social links: links to Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok are simple outbound links; no social widgets are embedded on the Site.

Legal bases

Depending on your location, we process personal data under these bases:

  • Consent (e.g., for sending you updates by email or SMS).
  • Legitimate interests (e.g., to operate and secure the Site).
  • Compliance with legal obligations (e.g., responding to lawful requests).

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe: you can withdraw consent to receive updates at any time—email us to unsubscribe or request deletion.
  • Access, correction, deletion: subject to local law, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information.
  • Objection and restriction: you may object to or request restriction of certain processing.
  • Data portability: where applicable, you can ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.
  • California: we do not sell or share personal information for cross‑context behavioral advertising. If you reside in California, you may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA.

Retention

We keep subscription contact details until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Basic server logs are typically kept for short periods needed to operate and secure the Site. If analytics is enabled in the future, we will apply limited retention consistent with the service’s defaults.

International transfers

Our providers (e.g., Google, GitHub) may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States and the EU. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we handle. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our Site is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes to our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
